Rasika Dugal on her intimate scenes from Mirzapur

Rasika known widely for her role in Mirzapur shared if she ever felt uncomfortable on the sets and whether she ever was typecasted. To which Rasika said, “Intimacy coaching is a fairly new concept and in my opinion a very important one as well. I’m very glad that it’s around because I was fortunate that the people I worked with when I had my first intimate scenes were actually Mirzapur. They were people that I knew. They are very sensitive people and they made sure that I was not uncomfortable in any way and they knew exactly what was going to happen on the shoot.”

Dugal further continued, “So, I knew exactly how many shots were going to be taken, how the shots were going to be taken from that it would be a closed set, and how closed the set would be. They had given me a space enough, that if I felt uncomfortable, I could go and talk to someone also, because I knew them from before. I knew Gurmeet Singh before, I knew Karan Anshuman. Karan had told me to listen if there’s one person on this set you don’t feel comfortable with that person will not be there when we are shooting, so just let us know.”

Rasika on the actors who don’t feel comfortable doing bold scenes

Talking about the actors who aren’t as privileged as her, Rasika Dugal said, “But, there can be times when this thing doesn’t exist for some people and then people get taken advantage of. People are uncomfortable but they don’t know how to say something. Also, you’re trying to act right? You shouldn’t be worried about all this. There should be a safe space professionally established, in my case, it was because of the friendship and comfort. It naturally got established, they were lovely people. But, there can be an asset which doesn’t have all this. So, I think the idea of what is permissible and what is not is something that one person should be watching out for, there should be somebody to take off all this.”

Rasika Dugal further also shared about her personal and married life.
